"Ministry comes with many weighty responsibilities. Ministry leaders are called to teach, serve, and lead. But in leading those under their care, there comes a moment when they recognize the future leaders under their leadership. With this recognition comes an all too familiar question: What comes next?"

Praise for Calling Out the Called:

“In recent years, the issue of “calling to ministry” has taken something of a backseat. Some dismiss the idea all together. I believe this is a tragic mistake. Knowing you are called by God to a vocation of Christian service can help sustain you through the valleys of ministry that will inevitably come. Further, understanding the nature of ministry can give you the essential mind and heart necessary to endure to the end and finish well. CALLING OUT THE CALLED addresses both of these important issues superbly. It is an excellent work. I will be quick to recommend it for years to come.”

— Daniel L. Akin, President, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

“It has been one of my great joys in life to help many young future pastors walk through the process of discerning their call to ministry. Now Scott Pace and my friend Shane Pruitt have done an incredible job of putting those key steps into a book. We hear far too often about pastors who have become discouraged and walked away from their calling. Without a doubt, pastoring is hard work. But what if many are walking away because of a lost sense of calling? Or what if they set off with the wrong sense of calling to begin with? We must call out our next generation of leaders in the Church, and we must help them be strongly anchored in their sense of calling.”
